The Queensland Government through the Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program (LGGSP) has committed funding to assist councils in implementing relevant recommendations of the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry and in delivering priority infrastructure that meets the need of their communities.
The 2012-13 LGGSP incorporates two subsidies:
The LGFRS delivers $40 million in funding over three years to assist councils to deliver projects that support the implementation of recommendations from the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry.
$11.9 million in funding is available for allocation to Councils under the 2012-13 LGFRS.
Applications for this first round of LGFRS opened on 17 September 2012 and closes on 12 October 2012. Successful projects will be announced in November 2012.

The LGGSPIS assists Queensland councils in delivering priority infrastructure projects that meets the needs of their communities.
$12.5 million in funding is available for allocation to councils under the 2012-13 LGGSPIS.
Applications for this round of LGGSPIS opened on 17 September 2012 and closes on 12 October 2012. Successful projects will be announced in November 2012.
